The End of an Age
I tried. I really did. I even turned to a different starter. But in the end (I suppose this isn’t really the end) Node.js-Dependency-Hell has driven me away. So long Gatsby. It was nice knowing you.
I am now using Jekyll as the static-site generator for my website. We’ll see how it goes, and how long it lasts. Hopefully with Dependabot & Snyk setup I’ll stay more on-top of things this time around.
I readily admit that my choice of Jekyll may have been influenced a bit 🤏 by watching monster things recently 👾. There are probably worse ways to choose a next tool to try, right?
One plus is that comments seem much more likely to happen this way, but I haven’t given that a go just yet, so please don’t hold your breath.
Remember, if something hasn’t gone wrong yet, you’re not trying hard enough.
